If any of you are considering signing up for a service called "Internet Camping", don't. It lists lots of places, but then you have to do a search to find out any details. You can find the same information for free in many places.

I decided to cancel after one week. Well, no responses until I sent a "not nice" email to them and all I got was contact your credit card company. They don't return calls either. So... . instead of pursuing getting the $25. 00 back, I figure I can bad mouth them $25. 00 worth. Tell your friends and spread the word, these guys are crooks and their service isn't worth a cr** either.

I would be more concerned about a credit card company that doesn't return calls than the scam internet company.

No problem with the credit card company, I didn't pursue getting a credit yet. The "Internet Camping" jerks are the ones not returning calls and only answering one email with five words. I sent them four or five emails and called three times.

I don't know if I'd classify the internet company as a scam, unless they do not live up to their advertized services. Many companies offer services folks could do on their own, but find the expertise or convenience worth the price, e. g. travel and investment agencies or construction and auto repair companies comes to mind.

Having said that, I don't think I'd would want or need their services. Because, as you discovered, the info is available with some scrounging about. I found that out when trying to reserve a camp ground spot at Washington's something or the other Bay near Bellingham for my daughters graduation from UofW. Neat spot by the way, even if more developed than my usual "camping" style. ;)

PS: I also can understand the frustration with getting money back or stopping folks from tapping into your resources. I had a similar rip off from AOL with a trial offer that I didn't intend on keeping. Let them know in writing and in email, but they kept tapping into my back account until I discovered it a couple months later. No refund.
