New contest?

East TN "Dodgers" Spring Tunnel Run

I've been running the beta 7. 0 for 4-5 months now... seems stable enough. It has tabbed browsing, phishing filter etc. It should also import your bookmarks, but I can't swear to it. Only hitch I had with it is that Wells Fargo online banking doesn't work with beta's. Firefox is a good /better option too.

I was running it for a month and I like it - very compatible with 'most' everything I had - except a 'dvd editing' program that came with my notebook "Cyberlink Power Producer" - It croaked and wouldn't come back to life until I uninstalled IE7 :(

Other than that I loved it...

Question for you smart IT people. The last few weeks my browser no longer recognizes that there are drop down menu's at the top grey "ribbon" at the ver top of the screen (The menu selections for "TDR Home", "Discussion Forums", etc. ). So, I have had to use the "View New posts since my last visit button on the left side of the home page screen. Can anyone suggest what setting has changed in the last 2 weeks on my computer, or if other people are experiencing it as well.

Thanks in advance!!

try this:

on IE menu:

select tools

select internet options

under the general tab

select delete cookies

select delete files and be sure to have 'delete offline content' checked. . when selecting

go back to the TDR site and re-logon

just a start. .

cleaning out cookies and temp files... .

rholcom2 - have you recently added any new software to your PC? Internet security, anti-popup ad, firewall, etc? Those menus (as well as many other parts of the site) use javascript to operate and if some software on your PC is blocking javascript they won't work.

To answer your question about bookmarks (MS calls them favorites) yes, IE 7 keeps them. Another thing that you can do is to go to your hard drive and make a copy of the favorites folder so that you never lose them. They are usually located at C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Favorites. Substitue %USERNAME% for your name on the computer. I have had the same favorites (with additions of course) for many years on different computers as I just copy them.

Yes, I have had my computer re-configured by a coworker recently, but the buttons seemed to work for quite some time after it being worked on. I do have a pop-up blocker, and I do have my security set to Low. Also, whenever I click on a link on a page a "Drop-down" menu comes down below the address bar that says a pop-up has been blocked, and I right click and internet explorer re-loads the page and I can click on it again and it will come up.

No, help. Seems to have just started in the past few weeks, before it was working fine; and no changes have been done to the computer since the drop down menus worked. I will keep trying different things.

Are you using Firefox? It gets "buggy" from time to time... you can save your bookmarks to your desktop and remove ALL of Firefox, then reinstall... it'll work like new again...

No, not firefox. I just have the internet options set to custom, and my IT friend has them set up to his liking. Who knows. I am learning to find work arounds to get to my favorites. But, its not too fun. I can use the wife's computer from time to time.
