Happy New Year........

Whenever I click to start IE, it starts and then freezes up right away. When I click to close it, it says the program is non responsive click to end the program. When I do that it asks me if I want to send an error report, so I click yes. Then it tells me to follow a link that will describe how to avoid this problem in the future. The problem is, when I click on the link, it opens in IE and freezes up right away.

What the heck do I do?

The wife is starting an on line course and it requires IE.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have antivirus software?

Have you done the basic restart the computer?

Do you have anti-spy ware software?

Have you run the defragmentation?

I have the Mcafee antivirus that came with the computer last year. We've updated it when it said it needed to. It has a firewall and that's about all I know. Restarting does not help. I'm not sure if it has anti spyware or not.

Have not defragmented this computer ever. It was new last February, bought it because we started having all kinds of problems with the old one. I kind of hoped this one would go a couple of years before problems like this.

While the I. E. issue is being sorted out, you can get her on line with the Firefox web browser.

http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

The only time I use I. E. now is for other upgrades from Microsoft. I. E. was letting in tons of 'spybots' & killing my computers.

Thanks guys,

Somehow, I got IE to work again. I'll see if firefox will work with her classes, it sounds much more secure.

Thanks
