Can you powder coat stainless steel??

Having trouble deciding what to do for internet service - - - My choices are as follows

1. Cable TV - - I'm not a cable TV subscriber (Use direct TV) and they will not supply internet service with out a cable TV subscription.

2. Telephone - - The phone company advertises DSL or whatever service in our area, but not available where I live. Neighbor has it and sez' t sucks.

3. Dish - - - Damned expensive. Either 600. 00 up front and 59. 00 a month or 99. 00 per month for 15 months, then 59. 00/month.

4 Stay with dialup - - way slow when it works.

Not much of a choice, I guess I'm looking for sombody who has Direcway to tell me how good it is. (o how bad it is)

I know someone out there can help me.

There's nothing wrong with DSL IF it's available in your area. When I was in your shoes I sucked it up and got my TV service through cable along with my internet. The minute DSL was available in my area I dropped cable and when to Dish Network and DSL. You don't want to go with satellite internet unless you have no other options.

are there any fixed wireless providers around you? That's what I have and it works well, comparable in price. I see speeds close to 1 MBps most of the time. My Up speeds are about half that. Very reasonable for my surfing time.

What Rman said.

If there are no wireless providers in your area here is an idea. It worked for me.

Buy a used 60' tower, I bought one for $100. Dig a hole 6' deep, set the tower in it and fill concrete.

Get the GPS coordinates for the tower and email all the wireless companies in your area.

I had 3 respond that they were interested, one showed up with a check.

I now have 700kbps wireless and they pay me $600 a year to stay on my tower, they pay the insurance (insist on no less than 2million liability).

Now I get paid to have high speed wireless :D

I was going to suggest being a provider yourself, plenty of companies look to expand, but finding the space is difficult. Check covenants and ordinances before you start digging though :)
