Dodge 360 to HEMI swap? Help

This is the General Topics and Hey there is alot of old farts on this site... . so maybe someone might be interested in watching it all come together ??

The ideal is to take a 1946-48 Ford Flathead and not only stick two (2) Turbo-Chargers on it, but to convert it to Electronic Fuel Injection as well. This exercise will follow along as they transform the Flat-Head into a Twin-Turbo-Charged, Fuel-Injected, Air-to-Air and Air-to-Water Inter-Cooled, Modern muscle machine. The build will include the fabrication of all components, on-site, and by the guy's at ProWeld Performance Parts. They will custom fabricate the Intake Manifold, Fuel Injector Bungs, Runners, Headers, Intake system, Inter-cooler tubing and every thing else it takes to make this old Flat-Head work. No it's not a diesel, but it sure will be fun !!

I guess this belongs here in the other vehicles better then in the general topics catagory???

I am sure it would be interesting but what is the point? If you add turbos and modern fuel injection to a flathead it is no longer period correct, I would think a more period correct project would be super charger with mechanical fuel injection.

... i am not much of a hot rod guy [all that stuff was from before i was born] but i would like to see a flat head that is bi turbo with air/air charge coolers. . i understand efi but on a flat head, it doesn't seem right from a visual look. tbi could be done if the wires are loomed and hidden well, and with a nice filter on it, could be disguised as a carb

Not to be a pessimist, but I say why bother? My dad has a flathead on his dragster. Its a 53 Merc engine thats been bored and stroked to 292, has a cam in it, three duces, Offy heads, and is still only making 200 horse or somthing like that. They can't breathe thats the problem. They have those three exhaust ports on each side and it sucks for breathing. You can only do so much with the valves and all that cus their in the block.

But a twin turbo flatty would look sweet. Some Hilbourne mechanical injecton on top of it would look even sweeter. You still probally wont be making that much power though.

What a bunch of wussies.....

First, the whole point of the build is to do something different... Everyone has seen a Flat-Head with mechanical injection and a 4 or 6-71 blower, that's old news... . I have never seen a twin-Turbo-Charged Flat-Head with a modern converted Fuel Injection system... . NEVER! And thats the point.

Also, the build is going to take place WITH or WITHOUT you... . so you decide. If your not interested, then stay away and be done with it..... I posted this for those that like something different, something original, and something unique. I know many diesel freaks only like doing what others have done, so in that case keep trolling the TDR and be happy. You guy's that like old iron, new ideals and high tech stuff... . I personally invite you to come over and look around, if you don't like what you see, no problem... if you do, great.

i just can't stand to be around those that can only see out the front of the windshield... . If that's your style... you probably won't like this or any build I'm doing... . And truth is... It's probably better that your not a part of it. Just don't be such a puss that you rain on other people's party, fair enough??

The build is much more then most would think, there are no parts manufactured that will do for what I'm about to do. The intake manifold, base plate, injectors, runners, plenum, and every other part of the intake/injector system is custom built... . by me. The parts that are bought are all new, and bought buy me..... the two inter coolers, two turbos, two wastegates, two BOV's, aluminum tubbing, sensors and every other freaking thing, is on my dime. You want to learn something new, like how to PROPERLY size a turbo-Charger to an engine, program a computer for your own injection system, or loads of other neat things then I welcome you. Just don't flap your gums and beat me down when I'm the one trying, learning and having a great time being me, and doing what ever the heck I want.

y-knot , I don't always agree with your posts. But if I lived close to your shop

I would be there everyday to work on this project! This sounds like the right combination of components to go with a flathead motor. I love it when someone messes with the old flatheads. These parts along with an electronic

ignition will make an exciting combination and I wish you the best of luck in

finding the right combination of turbos. I would love to have enough money

to buy one of the Honest Charley flathead motorcycles.

FLATHEADS FOREVEROo.

I'd be there for the build from start to finish if it was logistically possible.

Sounds cool... ... the best part of hot-rodding is having something unique and different, maybe even challenging the status quo just a little bit. A flattie with twins and EFI would definitely be both.

Go for it, I sure as hell would if I could.
