Truck Spotted

I saw a red reg cab with stacks going east on hwy 3 through humbolt monday night, sounded good!! Oo.

I'm out of the USMC and back in Iowa. I live in Hornick, and drive a white 01 pictured in my reader's rig. Want to meet up with some locals. Hope to do some sled pulling this summer. There are a couple in this area, but looking for more to attend. I have 500hp 1050tq now, but should increase by end of the month.

Did you just get back from overseas? Thank you for your service, and welcome home.

I see Hornick is north of Council Bluffs. I live in SE Iowa. I have a schedule for a group of guys down here if you are interested. There is also a group of guys that run central Iowa, I am waiting for their schedule.

On another note there is a group of guys from the CB/Omaha area that have come over to central Ia to pull with some hot cummins trucks.

Pm me your email and I will send you the rules and schedule for the SE Iowa pulls.

Michael

I also want too say thank you for your service to our country, WShupe. And welcome home to Hornick, my hometown also! My parents still live there, so we might bump into each other someday when I get down there to visit.

Michael,

Could you please send me the rules and schedule too?

If everyone would go check the central events and gathering forum, I am trying to get a few people together for a little wrenching and BS'ing on the 30th of April. Would be a great time for all the Iowans to get to meet each other.

Thanks,

Matt

Wyatt: did you get my email? Let me know if you didn't get all four pages.

Matt: PM me your email addy, or else email me at -- email address removed --. I am computer literate enough to be dangerous, but can't figure out how to send it to ya via TDR. If you get me your email then I can send it off. Its about 4 scanned pages.

Anybody else want to see the rules, and schedule I have so far just pm me your email and I will send it off. They have rules for street single charger diesels, and a twin charger class. Could be interesting. Oo.

Michael, I got the rules. Looks like a might be in a predicament. I don't have a stock turbo, or injectors, so that puts me in the big class. There they want loops, a steel bellhousing ???!?!, and a SFI clutch. I don't know if they are strict on these or not. The EEP clutch is nice, but it soesn't have and SFI cert. transmission blanket and driveshaft hoops are no big deal. Hopefully I can pull... .

Thanks for the email.

April 30th I hope to have my truck in a show in Sioux City. They are giving away a bunch of money and prizes. There is going to be a viper, AC Cobra, corvettes and all other sorts of vehicles there.

I just emailed Terry, he has the website for the Lee County pulls, asking him about the SFI bell housing rule. The NV 5600 does not have a removeable bell housing right? I will let you know if he gets back to me. I wondered out loud to him if a SFI blanked would suffice for the manual guys, as they do for the autos.

I saw the post on the Wrench day in DM. Dunno if I will be able to get away for it.

Michael

I'll be in Fairfield tomorrow briefly... watch for the white QC with stacks! Channel 19 on the CB. Gotta pick up some stuff I bought down by Eldon at a girlscout camp. I'll be running down 380/218

I'll be east and south of fairfield tomorrow. Look for a F650 wearing yellow stripes, Cat decals, dual CB antennas and a chrome straight pipe! I'll keep it on 19 also.

I have found that it is quicker to get off highway 1 at Iowa City and run it down to Fairfield. Just my $. 02

Michael

yeah I get off and run hiway 1 also since 218 is rough as a cobb with a trailer. I went thru Fairfield around noon and back thru around 5-5:30. man the city needs to fix the RR crossings in that town. I gotta go back at least 2 more times for loads.

They just "fixed" those crossings a couple months ago. It was real nice for a few weeks and it has gotten worse the last few weeks. I cross there a lot too. I did miss ya. Next time add a little time to stop in the evening. Do you go through Libertyville to Eldon, or do you go over to the scales and go south? Either way you were only a few miles from my house.

Michael

well the first time I went around to bypass the scale but I took my chances yesterday and made it by there... prolly do the same next time. Do you know of any tire repair places in Eldon? I have a camper down there I need to change out four tires on before I drag it home.

Not as bad as 92. THAT is rough. Was on it ONCE, when we went to the Old Threshers Reunion last year.

The worst one I've been on in Iowa, is 63. That was probably the longest 20 some miles I've ever driven. Was on it, going to Goerends for my transmission. That is frickin' nasty.

Don't know Eldon very well. RPM in Fairfield has a tire machine, but they are mainly a car repair shop. The BP in Fairfield fixes tires, I go wheeling with one of the techs there. Iowa Tire in Fairfield also fixes tires the owners boy and mine play ball together, both places know me.

I agree 218 is terrible, especially from Iowa city to about Washington going south.

Michael

I'll be down that way again on 5-27-05(tomorrow) with just the truck. Gotta pick up the camper this trip... hopefully can find a place to change out tires without raping me on price. Michael, you could take the day off work and help me if you want... :D
