2006 Diesel Nationals @ IRP on site camping!

Post IRP (Plainfield) videos here....

Is anyone leaving from SC or eastern GA? I will drive alone but it’s always better with a crowd. I have my room booked from Friday night to Monday morning. I was hoping to get up with someone who has been there before or at least knows their way around.

2. ) Is there places to park a trailer? Reason I ask is that I would be tempted to pull down my dads 22' enclosed trailer and throw a matress in it and crash in that instead of a hotel. Cheaper for one, plus, might be a little quieter than a hotel I am guessin.

If the weather is anything like it was last year, I wouldnt reccomend that. If you insist, give someone your cell # so we can turn you over. We dont want you to bake too long on 1 side! :D

The wife and I wanted to make it last year but it didnt fit into our schedule. I would love to go this year, but have a few questions on how it goes down there...

1. ) the wife and I like to have a good time, but are not partiers, we dont drink and dont stay up all night. boring maybe, but hey, its our choice. I just want to know if we came down, is there any chance we would get sleep at night, or is it a bash 24 hrs a day for the 3-4 days that everyone is there?

In all honesty, can a non-drinking couple have fun down there or not? No offence to the drinkers, but I think you know what I mean, as well as the non-drinkers as myself.

QUOTE]

Absolutely. It has been one of the best behaved drinking crowds I have been around at big shows. I would also say the non-drinkers out number the drinkers by a long shot.

I had no trouble sleeping at the Amerihost, and that was where most of the after hours "activities" were taking place.

I would call the event itself at the track more family oriented than not. :)

Lets see:

10 June-my wedding (McBride best man... how'd that happen?) $xxxx

11-17 June-honeymoon $xxxx

22-25 June-Diesel nationals $xxx

Spending time with my wife and good friends..... priceless

I'll save ya some money: Wedding/honey moon/ Diesel nationals, one place, one week, one money. I'll marry you at IRP.

SWEET! You'll make history.

don't worry Alphacowboy, the wife and i don't drink either and go to bed pretty early, this is a very good event to go to ...

we've went the last two years and had a ball ...

try to imagine this ...

you get up early ... drive a couple of hours ... meet about 13 guys that you've spoke with on here ... pull out in a caravan of stock to big time bombed trucks

drive with the caravan for a few hours with every trucker on the road hootin' and hollerin' on the CB ...

smoke rolling ... people smiling ...

then you show up at a motel and meet a few dozen more people just like yourself ...

get a bite ... head back to the motel and while standing there chatting pleasantly you hear off in the distance a cummins spool up tight, a dual disk clutch begging for mercy and then the sound of a set of dual wheels burning about a thousand miles in 200 feet ...

the wife and i got our water bottles, yard chairs and camcorder and sat down and enjoyed the show ...

the locals were very freindly ...

while there i was at an intersection waiting for the light change and looked in the mirror to see a 8 year oldish boy hanging out the passenger side window of a little four door car with one of those little box cameras and a huge grin on his face waiting for me to take off...

good times ...

P. S. and yes the little guy got a good picture
