2006 Diesel Nationals @ IRP on site camping!

Post IRP (Plainfield) videos here....

Just got off the phone with the "Amerihost Inn" and if signed the "advanced" reserve list from last year you might want to call them and ask. Seems they lost the list and they could only offer me a smoking room, I really wanted to stay right there on the side of the hotel where "The Party" will be... . but I'll suffer and walk from just the other side of the hotel (Days Inn) for a cheaper non-smoking room each night. :-laf

Hope to see you all there! Oo. Oo. :D

OH just to let you guy's know,,,, woodsrat and myself on our way back from IL made a stop and the street infront of the hotel,,,,,,,, STILL HAS BLACK MARKS ALL OVER IT!!!!!

The wife and I wanted to make it last year but it didnt fit into our schedule. I would love to go this year, but have a few questions on how it goes down there...

1. ) the wife and I like to have a good time, but are not partiers, we dont drink and dont stay up all night. boring maybe, but hey, its our choice. I just want to know if we came down, is there any chance we would get sleep at night, or is it a bash 24 hrs a day for the 3-4 days that everyone is there?

In all honesty, can a non-drinking couple have fun down there or not? No offence to the drinkers, but I think you know what I mean, as well as the non-drinkers as myself.

2. ) Is there places to park a trailer? Reason I ask is that I would be tempted to pull down my dads 22' enclosed trailer and throw a matress in it and crash in that instead of a hotel. Cheaper for one, plus, might be a little quieter than a hotel I am guessin.

3. ) Is there any costs involved to get into the events? What kinda stuff do we get to look forward too?

4. ) Scott (BBD) ya going to be there this year? I am still ****** I didnt make it last year, as I really want to see that beast of a truck you got!

You can stay where a select :-laf few of us stay: the Wingate

Very quiet for the non-partiers, but you can choose to knock back a few cold ones and pizza in the lobby with us. The rooms are nice, and the suites are real nice.

Its on the end of a cul-de-sac, so you can get a trailer in there.

The Wingate was pretty quiet last year.

FWIW - I called the Amerihost last week and they did not have any more rooms available.

Alpha, there is a cost to get into the event. I forget what is cost but I'm sure someone will remember.

2. ) https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=148115 Lists a Campground out of the back gate of IRP :D

3. ) Last year it was about $50. 00 to get into the IRP Events for an adult, for two days of Kickin' Diesel fun :D

"BTW M00Se00 Comfort inn baby right next door Got me 5 rooms (Incase I can't see straight it will better my odds)"

Alpha... . #1 yes it is possible to have a great time without drinking... . I don't drink and I have a ball every year! The main "night time" events will be the 'repaving' of the road in front of the amerihost... . and it might be a little noisey at the comfort inn since it has a side road also (Amerihost's is a deadend). Is it possible to get sleep in the hotel rooms... definately. ;) It is possible to come out and watch the burnouts and on going's without it being a "crazy party" like you might think also! ;) I'll be there most of the night! Oo.

#2 Yeah there will be places to park your trailer... . infact some of the pullers parked in the grass of the hotel's, and in the parking lots of restaraunts across from hotels late at night. I'm sure more will chime in with more places like Daniel (CMNS PWR) did. However my rate is only $49 a night @ Comfort Inn with my AAA rate. ;)

#3 Entry fee was $30 for the whole weekend pre person..... that includes all the drag racing, sled pulling, show n shine, burnout contest, and NUMEROUS NUMEROUS vendors you can stand.

#4 Scott said he was planning on attending again this year if his schedule allows. He has family out this way which is a good reason to come also!

Thanks Mark! I kinda figured that would be the answers to my questions, but ya never know. I really want to come down this year! Going to see if I can arrange it so that it will be in the middle or the end of another trip. Want to take a week or more off for a road trip with the wife, and it would be fun to include this stop along the way!

Alpha... .

Don't worry to much about finding a place to crash. We pretty much take over the hotels in the area.

As far as the really late night partying..... I think last year was the first year that anyone other than us Notherners stayed up till the wee hours. Even then, Holeshot and I looked at eachother while we watched the last couple of guys go in for the night and said "Want another one?"

I donno if I'll drink like I did last year :-laf , but I'm sure I'll have a few! Oo.
