Holiday Inn Express in Brownsburg

Anyone coming to IRP from near Dixon (Sacramento), CA?

Monday, March 14th 9:00 am Eastern Time; tickets and camping reservations will be available by calling 317-291-4090. It is an automated phone attendant, there will be a choice for camping reservations and one for tickets.

Mike, the facility manager will be taking care of the camping reservations, please bare with him, as he will be in Gainesville, FL running the Gator Nationals. You will have to leave a message and he will get back to you in the order of which you called. It may be a few days before he gets back to you, but don’t worry, he will. He will be back in the office March 22nd from FL. There are three camping levels; preferred (trackside) for $30/night, general $10/night, and vendor. Vendors will have to call me to make their reservations. My number is on www.dhraonline.com under contact information. Thanks

From what I can read on the websites, the only camping permitted inside the park will be on wheels... no tents.

Tent camping will be across the road... correct?

no fires??? and no trees! that will be a hot day! hahah are there any other camp sites near by? like a regular campground?

A couple quick questions that I don't see the answers to but you might be able to answer anyway.

1) Will the grounds be open Friday? We plan on traveling a loong way to get there and will arrive Friday evening.

2) We have multiple people & trucks coming, how many trucks can we put in a campsite?

IRP is handling all of the camping questions, this is the first time ever they have allowed camping outside of transports.

I talked with Mike of IRP at 4:00 pm today. I had left a message as instructed on a previos thread at 9:00am. He says only 24 spots of prefered (track side) camping are available, and I was #6 on the list. He also said the site will be narrow width and 82 feet in length. They are set up to back in to the fence that lines the track. He recomended an early arrival for clearance in parking. They have an event on thursday night and will open up for camping at noon on friday or as soon as they get everything cleaned up from the night before. I did not ask about the other camping sites but I believe the arrival information will be the same.

The big question is; where is the party spot going to be this year? I am not sure if I should bring the camper and stay at IRP or get a room at or around the AmeriHost Inn and Suites. Lee's inn was just too much fun last year!!! :D I don't want to miss a bit of the action

Just got a call back, a few trackside spots left. No ground fires, but he said if you have one of those prtable fireplaces thats cool. Only drag no hookups, generator if its to hot I guess. Going to go down friday morning, anyone else from IL going?? Karl

Hey Karl,

I will be going that way. Maybe we can convoy. You are only about 15 to 20 minutes south of me.

See ya at Dyno Day this Saturday.

Eric, did you get an answer as to how many trucks to a site? You wanna just get another site so we dont have to worry about it. If you cant put multi trucks on one camp site... . were you going to park your truck?

He sounds pretty layed back, I bet if you ask it would be ok. Maybe just cost a couple extra bucks. He said the sites are about 25 ft wide and pretty looong. So who's bringing the keg?? I have a portable fire place to bring, so maybe we can just get all the tdr guys in a group and have one big place to hang out when the smoke clears!! Karl

Karl, that sounds like a good idea! That is how it typically went in the past at the ole Big Oak Campgrounds. I'm sure it won't be a problem if people pack into one spot, but just ask them.

EMcBride, When I called mike a month or two ago i made reservations, I thought it was for the Race view campgrounds. I see there number is different. Where did mike reserve a spot for me? Im trying to get directions figured out and hit a brick wall here. Thanks for your help. kevin

Kevin, you will be dry camping trackside at IRP, not a bad spot at all if you chose the $30/night spot. Raceview does NOT take reservations as of now, but they will be taking reservations Sunday of the event for next year. So, if you called IRP you are staying there, if you don't want to stay at the track itself and want electric, go to Raceview-first come, first served. 200 sites... .
