DHRA Indy Motel Warning Letter

Didn't make it this year but glad, heard Plainfield cops pulling people over giving them threats of night in jail and impounding trucks for "chirping a tire" cops told Tomeygun they had 10 sitting in the warehouse district waiting and a paddy wagon around the corner. Sounds like it's time to move locations.

Well that sounds like a blast  Honestly Im surprised it took this many years for the cops to get "serious" about all the horsin around. I dont really have a problem with it as long as they arent pulling the average joe over to give him noise violations and whatever else they feel like when Im trying to get to my hotel for the night.....

Heard that last nite was really aweful. They had the entire force from 3 districts there sitting in every parking lot, Many have tickets and breathalizers mandatory. A certain member has a promise to appear (Drive will suck from CT) and attendance was low from what I gather due to fuel and the looming crackdown.

Yep, last night was definitely nothing like the last few years. I saw several trucks get pulled over for rolling smoke and some reckless driving. Cops were ALL over the place. IRP is definitely not what it once was..... On a positive note the sled pulling seemed to go pretty smoothly and if the weather holds out today should be pretty good as well.

Hmmm.....

And not long ago I TOLD everyone this would happen and I was told bunk. They did the exact same thing to the National Mopar event and it then moved back to Columbus.

The last Mopar event in Indy they even made us show our motel keys when we tried to drive anywhere and if you didn't belong there you were told leave or be cited and jailed. I have not been to an Indy event since.

Actually,I am amazed it took this long for this to happen... ... Andy

I saw it coming too. Some just want to thumb thier noses at the law, and do what they think is cool.

I miss the days of 'thunder in Muncie'.

Maybe us old timers can put something together again.

I'm glad I didn't blow a grand on fuel and hotels to go to a bunk event.

I hear you on Muncie, Jet Pilot and I still talk about those days (03') that was the stuff at the fair grounds for the sled pulls then back to the hotel till 3:00 and up at 7:00 for the next day.

just got back, skipped the sunday event and headed home early.

Friday night and saturday night was a bust. Sure, we sat around and got drunk but that gets old... .

We did not stay the extra day because with SO few vendors and constestants running, we saw it all in one day easy.

The lack of the usual vendors was staggering. I dont plan on going next year at this point (where as last year I was literally planning truck mods for next years event)

I went Saturday. I thought the crowd was bigger. Tommy was right less vendors for sure. Valvoline & TST wasn't there. That was a shock. I liked the drags & pulls. I will go next year, but that is easy for me to say I live on the other side of town. -Jason

BTW, By its size and turnout to me this event felt like a local event, not a national... I would certainly go if it was under one hour away

The turnout of racers and spectators met my expectations. This is my third year of I/ORP and I still lurk around the forums.

The police were definitely out "enforce" this year. The told everybody to "go to your room" late Sat night! LOL I also noticed that the owners/attendees has taken a very noticeable decline in average age range.

Those that left the hotel property completely trashed should be ashamed of themselves.

On a more positive note it was really great to see my diesel friends again!
