It was a pretty good time EXCEPT: We got a "camp site" and stayed at the track with the expectation of being able to "anything" as stated in an earlier thread, like impromtu burnout contests, dounuts, etc. Funny thing is that the people that run IRP wern't allowing "anything" to be done. If there were any crickets, they would have been the biggest source of entertainment and noise.
Also, our "camp site" was a section of asphalt. Not too nice to pitch a tent on and the funny thing about asphalt the sun has been shining on it all day, it's hot for hours.
Some "diesel racing fan" punched a hole in a wall in the showers and tore out a water pipe. IRP locked the showers for the rest of the weekend.
Some yahoo ran over my "street" tires while I was doing the burnout contest and took off. My wife had to chase him down.
Then some "charming folks" in a Ford crewcab backed into our "camp site" (against the fence on the dragstrip) also while I was in the burnout contest. They got a little pi**y when I blocked them in while I was putting my street tires back on and started throwing their garbage on the ground while getting out of my "camp site". We did give their junk back to them but they were dicks. Not the nice group of folks I've met at other events.
