Is a BD Pressure-Loc any good?

Two speed rear ends..

4" Exhaust systems and Exhaust Brake Loudness

Couldn't find much of anything doing a search, and have no experiance with this product.

I still need to get parts and get a couple pressure gauges made up to check my transmission pressure, not to sure about it.

I did clean the TPS, and replaced the return spring on the TV (was almost ready to break). Adjusted bands and changed the fluid.

As long as I keep the RPMs up, the TCC doesn't slip when going into O/D (normally have it locked out in town). If you don't, it can. Main concern is in the spring and fall, there are sometimes others that need to use my truck pulling loaded wagons or fertilizer buggies (8-16k, low speed). I make a point to tell them how to drive it (if I'm there) so they won't ruin it, but not there to watch. Try to keep it to a minimum. Would help give a little peace of mind.

I am saving for a BOMBed transmission, but will be a while yet. :(

Would it be worthwhile to get one? If someone else did something to it, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't chip in to help pay for repairs.

Thanks for any input.

The pressure lock does help but is not a cureall.

Before you spend $$ Look up DTT transmisions and give them a call. They really no there stuff

That's true, wasn't expecting more than some added insurance. The transmission itself feels good, it's the T/C clutch that is the problem.

Something I forgot to mention, I have #10 plate coming from TST also. Will have to wait to install.

I don't think the pressure lock activates until after TC lockup. That doesn't do much good for the abuse at lockup.

My TC clutch completely burned out from adding a few mods including GSK, then #4 plate, and by over active right foot.

The rebuild was worth every nickle.

Went back to their site, and you are right about lock-up mode.

It would help though for me. When I haul that stuff, I run 3rd locked to keep the transmission temps down. Climbs real fast if I don't and run in 2nd. gear. Maybe need a valve body that allows 2nd lock-up? With 4. 10's, I'm turning about 12-1500 RPMs.

A pressure-loc does not command TC lockup. It only responds to the PCM command for lockup.

You can add a 3-way mystery switch and get second gear TC lockup with a stock valve body. Also lets you prevent lockup until you are ready. Just remember to unlock before up or down shifting.

it will bump your line pressure up 40psi, it makes the transmission think you are at 3/4 throttle so line pressures are way up on light throttle situations to help eliminate tc shudder.
