First let me say I love ALMOST everything about my 2018 2500...everything except the damn 68rfe shift quality!

Seems like every time I’m traveling about 45mph and slow to around 15mph to come around a turn, it’s stays in 3rd or 4th and slips the converter like there is no other!!! I hate that, feels like I’m burning up the transmission constantly...it starts gradually locking but it’s a very unpleasant feeling.

Truck is deleted and tuned with DRD, shift points are great and drives awesome otherwise.

Will a revmax 700 fix my issues or do I go back to a Duramax? My old truck was a 2016 Duramax, it shifted awesome! Nothing like this!

I WANT QUICK CRISP SHIFTS THAT DONT FEEL LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS JUST SLIPPING ALL OVER THE PLACE.

I’m on a 30hp tune and don’t hot rod my truck or tow by the way.

Do you manually shift the transmission or do you just put the transmission in drive and drive the truck? The reason I am asking is my truck is also deleted and I lock out 5th and 6th gear in town. My transmission shifts much better in town when the two overdrive gears are locked out.
I test drove a 2019 truck at the TDR rally in Columbus IN. and I did not like the truck transmission shifting at first. I locked out 5th and 6th gear with this truck also and the shifting was some what improved.

I would contact Anarchy Diesel to see if they can provide a tune for the 68RFE that you would like. I know my older son has used them in the past for tuning 68RFE transmissions with HO/TQ improvements on Dodge trucks with the 6.7L Cummins.

I will lock out the overdrives today to test, but on a 60k truck you should just be able to put it in drive and go.

I love the Cummins and the truck but the shifting has my OCD in high gear...if a valve body and converter, or a built transmission will achieve my goals I’ll keep it, if not I’m going to pull my hair out!

You tried with T/H for city driving?
Also EB on all the time?

Yes T/H mode I’ve used most of the time, and exhaust brake is always on.

I’m currently on DRD tuning, maybe I should give CTT/HPP tuning a try but if a valve body and low stall converter will achieve my goals I will purchase ASAP

Or maybe trade it on what you really want.

I really want my Cummins and 68rfe to work like it should!
I will start looking into purchasing a low stall converter and valve body along with new tuning.

I’m a die hard Chevy guy but when it comes to diesels it’s Cummins or nothing, I want my truck for pulling, reliability and power...not speed. If I wanted a fast diesel I would have bought a 6.7 ford.

Once again I love my truck, just want a better shifting experience.

That will be fun playing around with hard and software on a self learning transmission.

You know that everything you change on the drivetrain has its impact on the way the transmission behaves over time?

So for example, change the TC, maybe your fine - but maybe two weeks later the transmission adapted to it and you are back on field 1.

I'm just thinking...
Search for a business THAT REALLY KNOWS what they are doin, ask them the right questions.

These trucks are not like 10 years ago.

The biggest impact to the transmission behavior is your self's driving habits.
Drive like grandpa and it will shift and pull like grandpa.
Use a heavy foot and it will adapt to a sporty shift style.

i sold my 2016 2500 6.4 hemi because trans shifting/searching drove me to insanity. happy with my 2018 g56 manual cummins now. cheers comrades!
