Man some of you guys have gotten pretty nasty. People come here for help not to be ridiculed. If the truck wasn't deleted then would it be ok to complain that the trans shifts poorly?
I'm a die hard Cummins Ram fan - you guys know that, I've been here for years - but he's right. The shift quality (in terms of feel) of the 68RFE is awful. We can defend it because we own one, but that doesn't make it ok. When half the guys driving one, all fans of the brand, complain that it feels terrible, then the manufacturer needs to correct it. I drive all (both) of the competitors at work, and they have better transmissions. Better in terms of "feel" and no more or fewer performance or durability issues. There's not a guy on here that would proclaim that the 68RFE is any match for the Cummins powerplant in its raw form. The reason it holds up is torque management (torque limiting). If I could get an Aisin in a 2500, I'd never buy a 68RFE. Would anyone?
The planet is a sphere not a disk. People were executed for saying that once. But they were right. If their trucks were deleted, they'd still have been right.
