I have lost two while driving now both of the back wheels. I know several others that have also. At $150 a piece it has gotten to be expensive. I wondered if any of you all have a secret for keeping them on or if mine where just made on a friday afternoon.
The first one I lost I could swear it was on when I left, but the second one I know it was on when I left Ft. Smith Sunday night and when I got home it was gone. I am planing to speak to the dealer about it but wondered if anyone here has been down the road. I have 28k miles on the truck and the only time the tires have been touched is by the dealer when they had to rebalance them after I bought the truck cause it would shake fillings out.
Although I have a lowly Tradesman with steel wheels, I have had my wheels off several times performing tire rotations (six times, actually) and both the front & rear center caps require a decent amount of effort to seat them when re-installing. Once installed----there's a definite sound you'll hear whenever they are installed correctly.I wondered if any of you all have a secret for keeping them on or if mine where just made on a friday afternoon.
If your truck's a '13 I'd be raising hell at the dealer and fighting for them to pay for replacements.
