I wonder if putting wheel locks (replacing one of the lug nuts) makes them fall off easier? I don't have wheel locks.

That would mean only 7 nuts are connecting with the rubber catches instead of 8?

I replaced the left one, took a trip to Colorado, came back & the right one was gone. I pulled the new left one off & put it in the garage, can't afford
to keep those things in stock. I did check the right one before the trip & it was seated all the way.

No problems on my 11 with 65K or the 15 with 2K.

Well with 33K on my 15 now yesterday the drivers side front cap became MIA! *I always RnR it any time tire or alignment work is being done. *I have noticed a lot of plastic rattling noise recently traveling slow over bumps in the road.

Where is the best place to buy???

No suggestions here. Even on Ebay, they fetch a "longhorn" price. Wow, these.pieces of plastic are as much as a used chrome inlay rim!

As expensive as they are I would not buy anything other than OEM. I recently lost a rear center cap on my 4th gen wheels after zero probelms in 3 years. Found a set of aftermarkets for half the price on eBay, pictures looked good and the reviews were good so I said what the heck. Upon receiving them there is certainly a deficiency in quality...Mainly the locking ring that snaps onto the lug nuts. The locking ring snaps on tightly but is just ever so slightly loose to the center cap and makes an annoying rattle at low speeds if you have the window down. I'm not sure how long it will last.
At least I got another one in the garage for when it goes :-laf

I just lost one of my Longhorn center caps. I did notice a couple weeks prior that it looked loose. I pulled it off. About 2/3 of the plastic fingers were cracked/cracking. I don't know if this was a defect or if the tire shop months earlier didn't have things lined up before pounding them on. I assumed I would lose it, and weeks later it was gone. No doubt it fell off, as opposed to being "borrowed".

I had 3 of mine replaced under warranty. I was VERY surprised they did as it was not my purchasing dealer.

What I am doing to avoid any more losses is I put a few dabs of Permatex RightStuff on the lug nuts and pop on the caps. About a year now and NO losses!
