I have been looking all over the net for a cold front for my '06 2500 MegaCab, but I can't find anything. This is my first diesel, and as slowly as it warms up in the winter, I can't believe that Dodge doesn't offer some kind of grill cover. Does anyone make one? TIA

Check JC Whitney and the aftermarket catalogs. I think i have even seen them in the Cabelas catalog now. They are grill inserts. I have them on my truck and they work great for cold weather. Check out my pics if youd like to see. I think mine were made by "grillz" or something similar.

I got a lund insert from my dodge dealer and it is for a 05 ram only had to trim off a corner and it fits great! last winter i did not have them and engine cooled down way to fast! this winter we shall see!

I guess I have never had a problem getting the trucks warmed up. If you think these are slow, try an Isuzu-max, those come with a cold front, and they need it.

Just get the high idle function enabled by the dealer so you can run it a little faster to get heat. Less hassle than a cover IMO.

I own 3 of these trucks and have ordered #4 a 5500..... I suggest that you reconsider the winter front..... before intercoolers they were great... . but with intercoolers the object is to decrease the temperature of the air charge to give you better performance... you loose some of this with an intercooler when you install the winter front... ...

When we are working the trucks we have no problems with temperatures down to -20*F. but to be honest have had some warm up issues empty at those temperatures... . might take as long as 45 min to really get the cab warm empty... ... . unless it's been plugged in... .

Everything is a compromise with or without the winter front..... we just don't use them with these trucks... . our old stuff without the intercooler. . yep we use them all winter...

I've notices while EMPTY cruising at 75 in -20 that blanket helps KEEP the cab warm at higher speeds.

If you run empty, get it. if you run loaded, you won't need it.

keep in mind hte mopar one has enough openings to be about 25-30% opened if you want.
