I was on the amsoil site and was reading about the dual filter bypass setup is it worth it Ive run nothing but amsoil since day one but its hard to think to wait that long to change your oil let me know what you think thanks alot!!!!!

Wish the search feature were running; you could find TONS on this question. I'm running the dual remote, but the single bypasses should also be considered - there are pros and cons with either set-up. The dual remote makes filter changes easy, but it does drop your oil pressure a little bit. (5 to 10#?) A few folks also can hear engine noise, specifically, the lube pump, transmitted via the dual remote oil lines.

I have the dual remote and like it so far and my oil pressure might be down 2lbs. I think if I was doing it over again I would leave the stock filter where it is and use the Amsoil filter setup that uses 2 bypass filters instead of one bypass and one full flow. Another member posted thats what he has done and his oil is staying super clean plus you add another 2-3 quarts of oil to the engine .

Yes too bad on the search function now. There was a thread a few weeks ago and Amsoilman posted he is now using the single bypass and leaving the full flow filter on the block for saftey reasons. If a line breaks/ruptures on the dual bypass system it will probably only take a matter of seconds before all the crankcase oil is pumped out and the engine has no oil. With running just a bypass (single or dual) and leaving the full flow filter on the block, only 10% of oil flow is going to the bypass unit. If the hoses develope a leak you will most likely have time to pull off to the side of the road and shut down the engine before any damage occurs.

Anyone have the web address for contacting CPFF?? for that battery mount and billet adapter he makes??

I have been using the Amsoil Dual Bypass unit for 25k now. I have had no problems and am quite happy with it. I did however beef it up a little bit from its stock form. Member "CPFF" makes a very trick billet aluminum block adapter to replace the pos that amsoil supplies. I also used Stainless lines. I think CPFF is making those lines now too as well as a mount . So you can get a whole kit from him and he is an Amsoil dealer. Anyway might be worth emailing him, his stuff is top quality.

I used the daul remote by-pass filter system and had some bad luck with the filter adapter that comes with the kit. It leaked.

The aluminum filter/base mount is a very high quality piece though.

The hoses were ok as well, but could use some improvment too.

I was unaware of the custom adapter from CPFF and wish I had tried it.

The Amsoil by-pass filters are top quality. I did not like the fact I was stuck using the Amsoil full flow filters though when using the dual remote system. There may be an adapter yet to make other full flow filters work.

If Amsoil would address the leaking stock adapter, include a better set of hoses and let users have the flexibility of using whatever full flow filter they wanted I would try it again.

Don~

I have run mine for 60,000 miles. Recently the adapter that replaces the stock filter developed a leak, seems the gasket flattens out over time. New gasket, no problem. I like the system but after reading about the reasoning for the single by-pass system I would go with it if I had to do it over again. When a member with the user name AMSOILMAN recommends it I have to believe that's the way to go. I like the Amsoil. I put several miles a year on my truck and don't have time to change filters every 5,000 so the extended period of 12,500 and 25,000 works good for me!:)

Still tring to find out how to get in touch with CPFF (?) about the battery mount he makes for the Amsoil bypass filter.
