Is Cetane Booster OK on 3G

I have heard that we are not supposed to use fuel additives on these engines, but I don't see how that can be true - especially the farthur north you go.



What about cetane booter additives. I get much better milage when I use it and really don't want to stop. Will it increase EGT's under heavy loads (I pull very heavy loads often)? I don't have guages, and my truck has no "performance" mods.

I live in Alaska and use it everytime I fill up . I use the Stanadyne no problems even in -20F

You should have no problem in your 3G. I use it mainly in the winter and maybe once, or twice a month in the summer. I find that my performance lowers when I put to much additve in when I fill up. It might be because I only use Amsoil, and it's a higher concentrate than some of the others.
