My new truck is due in (hopefully) within the next two weeks. I've been reading about the 70 mph vibration, but it seems to be all 4x4, mostly/all autos. Is this something I need to look for on my test drive? I ask, because my dealer is pretty far inside the city and the local highway cops have been just silly with the number speed traps these past few weeks.

Thanks!

Steve

Personally,

A speeding ticket is far better than getting a truck that you're not happy with.

I think you're about as safe as it gets 2wd, 6spd, but I'd still check it out before signing on the dotted line. My salesman tried to get me to sign before I drove my truck and I refused.

My truck has been on order for three weeks. I'm getting worried about this. The truck I test drove had a horrible vibration from 60-75. Since the truck had just come off the transport and was not prepped in the slightest, I wrote it off as a fluke. I guess I have some forum reading to do to see how many people are seeing this and if there is a fix yet. I'd say take it on an extended test drive before buying it.

When I picked up my truck, I didn't even start it before I signed for it. I figured I had already been w/o a truck for 5 weeks, and flew 1000 miles to Denver to pick it up. I figured I was as committed as I'd ever get and if anything was wrong with it, I work it out under warranty. So far, no warranty issues other than having the reflash done. This is not meant as advice, only sharing how it worked out for me.

I have a 4 X 2 and the only vibration I had was the 2100-2000 rpm drone. It was fixed with teh power steering damper. Other than that a road-force balance and interval based balance and tire rotations has given 43,000 miles of pleasurable driving vibration free

The loards rule!!!!! Don't buy it unless you try it!!!!! Learned the hard way!

Bought a 93 SS 454 with out driving. Bad cyninder head casting... . vacume leak. Chevy changed engines and put in a crate motor. No matching #s now no collector value at all. One year and a file a foot thick and they gave me a new truck. Moral... ..... Drive befor you buy!

I had a serious vibration in second gear at about 1500 rpm. Thought it was the launch shudder different people had been talking about. Turned out to be a frozen rear u-joint. Replaced it and everything is fine again. Hopefully the next 100,000+ miles will be as trouble free as the first, as of today, 119,236 miles.
