Diesel Dynamic's Stage 2 and Stage 3 injectors require a 'boost module' to work correctly. Does 'Power Edge's' "EZ" meet this requirement, since it supposedly has a built- in boost module, or do I have to also buy Diesel Dynamics's Boost Module?
Also, what performance increase can I expect with this combo(EZ + DD II's or DDIII's) and no other upgrades?

Yes the boost module in the EZ will work, it will keep you from getting a check engine light and will let the turbo sing. The Ez comes with a elbow to put on your turbo too.
As far as numbers I dont know, but there is always someone out ther who does!

Make sure you get Bill K's VB and TC with that combo or say good bye to your transmission.

Robbyram, the DD web site claims a 145 HP and 270 lbs of torque with there stage III injecters and there True Torque Module (reprogramed EZ for there large injecters). JKloppe is right about the trans upgrades, there is know way the stock trans will hold that kind of power.

Bobbyram,
I,ve got the EZ, and I,m picking up the DD II's tommorow, along with an install of Bill K's VB/TC... ... These are a must to take full advantage of any engine mods you do... If you run your stock trans, it won't get the power to the ground and make it worse than it is now. . I don't know about you, but I've got a stall speed now,of 1900 RPM,seems like it just sits there 'till lock up... ... BTW, my 01 truck wouldn't accept the boost elbow without drilling out the turbo where the tube go's in... I have a solid pipe, where as the early turbos have a removable elbow at the wastegate... I,m trying to keep the underhood area kinda'stealthy... . Bill K's going to be in our area tommorow, in case you didn,t know. . After mods you're more than welcome to drive my truck, if you'd like... ...

Call Diesel Dynamics and they'll tell you the exact way to go. They have researched every possible combination.

As for the EZ with DDIIIs, I've been told that some detonation occures at high rpms. Thus DD got with edge and adjusted the EZ and renamed it.

As for the EZ and DDIIs I have this myself along with a few other add ons. Mostly I don't run with the PE on and I have plenty of power I really like this combination. With the Stock turbo the two worked very well to maintain operable EGTs even under heavy load. Just in the past week I have added a HX40 and am very pleased with the performance and egts.

As for where to start, I would start with the EZ or DD box as these shouldn't destroy your stock auto or clutch. Then after transmission mods have been completed go with the injectors. If you still crave more... get the Power edge and possibly an HX40.

Any other questions just email.

Guys, I am planning on installing a set of DD Stage 3's within the next 2 - 3 months. I also plan on getting a new clutch (Sachs from Joe D. ) later this year BEFORE I get a "box". I say later this year, 'cos I only got so much allowance $ to play with #ad
So if I have the DD III's with no kind of box for several months, is that a bad, bad thing???

Thanks,
Tom
