2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission is it a 98.5 or 99?

OK Im new to this site and have already found a ton of info here. My first question of many is- my trucks build date is 8/98 and its registered as a 99 but is this actually considered a 98. 5?

You're right - there's more good information here about your truck than anywhere. But be careful - pretty soon you'll be wanting more power and the urge is difficult to resist (maybe even impossible!) Do a quick search if you have questions - that should tie up an hour or two. But if you can't find it - ask.



Try this for VIN decoding: VIN

Looks like by your build date should be a '99. The '98. 5 was used to differentiate the 24 valve introduction from the original '98 12 valve.
