It is not a 07. 5, per se, the cab chassis came out in 2006 as a model year 2007. The pickups came out in 2007 as model year 07. 5. The engines (in p/u and c/c) are both 6. 7, but there are different power ratings between pickup and cab chassis, as well as different aftertreatment setups, and some other different parts.

There will be some cosmetic differences, one example is the exhaust recirculation tube cover. The price of the CTD was more and there was a Blue tech mandatory option that cost about $1000. 00. I don't think there were any emissions differences, but I could be wrong. If you open your hood and you see the ugly EGR crossover mesh cover only on the crossover tube, then it is an early engine. If you have the black plastic cover hiding the front of the engine, it is the newer setup.

I ordered mine and it came with the newer version, and I was not aware of the change, nobody had the 07. 5's yet. It PMO because it cost me about 2K more, because I waited for January, because of the rummers of increasing HP that were false. This is for the C&C only.

If it has the 6. 7L (which any C+C does) then people call it a "07. 5". There technically is no such thing as "07. 5".

I call mine an '07 C+C but I suppose since it does have the EB standard rather than an option and no mesh on the EGR then it could be considered an '07. 5.

The c/c and pickup have been certified differently. An easy way to spot this is the difference in the aftertreatment on the vehicles - the pickup has 3 "cans" (diesel oxidation catalyst, NOx absorbing catalyst, DPF) and the c/c has 1 "can" (combined diesel oxidation catalyst and DPF).

Yes, I'm aware of the differences in the reg and C&C but I believe BillRamsey is asking if there is any difference between the 07 C&C built before Jan 07 and the C&C after Jan 07. Mine was built Feb 07 and it does look different than a pre Jan 07 C&C.

While they both have 6. 7's something in my memory says the pre 1/1/07's didn't have all the emissions crap, thou I could be wrong.

There is nothing, about the engine and aftertreatment, that is different on cab chassis from those built before Jan. 1, 07 to those built after. What speficially do you think is different?

If a 2007 6. 7L Cab & Chassis was built before 1-Jan-2007, doesn't that mean the vehicle doesn't have to comply with the 2007 emissions? That vehicle could legally emit more NOx and particulate than vehicles built after 1-Jan-2007. I think the EPA regulations still preclude tampering with the emissions equipment, but it's something to think about.

What ever vehicle it is cars or trucks, in The socialist Republic of California, your vehicle must have the manufactured smog equipment that it came with and they get inspected for items as well as function. The only plus at the moment is Diesels don't get inspected at this time but I guaranty that won't be for long and, oh ya, and there will be a fee

Correct, I think. But that's a lot of monkeying around and $$ for Dodge to spend for something that's only going to be produced for a few months.
