..... to have the idle raise automatically to 1000 or highger in 25 degree weather. I am new to the 3rd Gens and this never occured in any of my previous CTD's. I assume it is but just making sure.

Fireman Dave is half right. Our trucks don't use the 3 cylinder warm up, that was only a second generation feature. However, our truck do have a cold weather high idle feature. On some occasions, the truck will take a couple of minutes to ramp up 1000 RPM's. Other times (when really cold), it will jump right to 1000 upon starting.



Also, 2004 and later automatic transmission equipped trucks have a feature that allows the owner to control his/her high idle with the cruise control buttons. However, for this feature to work, your dealer needs to go into the truck PCM with a DRB2 controller and enable the feature.
