hi, my 2001 have 300000 kilometers on it now with the origional 47re but it has just started slipping in the steepest hills if i speed up ,this is in overdrive.

the oil is still red looking so i was wondering if it would be a good idea to buy a rebuild kit and intall it before its too late, whats you guys opinion?

Are you sure it isn't the torque converter clutch that is slipping? Recommend a multi disk converter, and a updated valve body to increase the pressures along with the rebuild.

thanks, how much would that cost ? here in Atlantic there isn`t a lot of options,if you can`t find a used transmission in a scrap yard then you get a shop to rebuild. seem like in the USA there are lots of different options. my truck is pretty much stock and i don`t haul much so i wouldn`t need a performance trans.

A good upgraded trans is one to the best things you can do to your truck, increased power or not. You've got your money's worth out of the stocker so go ahead at do it right. Waiting will only make the damage worse and it will probably break when you need the truck the most.
