Went to Keene Chrysler today to pick up some of the Limited slip additive and went into the service side and asked if they would look up my trucks history. (I Bought the truck used with 110k on it) The injector pump is original. SO was the Lift pump. I replaced that. But I am interested in the High idle warm up and the 3 cylinder drop out. They said they could hook my truck up to the computer for $65 bucks. Is it worth it just because i am interested in those options or is there any other upgrades that would make a difference. MY truck is stock except for an exhaust. It now has only 122k. Any ideas.

Thanks in advance Alex

Test out a smarty on your truck. If you can stand turning it back to stock it will have the high idle. You will want to buy one if you try it though, so be warned

Unfortunatley If i do that I can just see buying a new transmission. I don't think I would have the reserve to hold back. My transmission is tender so I am babying it until i can save up enough for a rebuild. I will check into the smarty though. Have to see if anyone one in the NH area has one. thanks for the info

AMatson, I'm guessing that if you went to Keene Chrysler you must live in that area. I live in the Northern part of the State and I have a Smarty that you could try so that the high idle/3cyl idle would be enabled. I'm located about 100 miles north of Concord. Let me know if you're interested. I occasionally travel to Concord area.

Not too mention, the smarty while a wonderful addition, won't give you enough power to blow a transmission. You could get one and feel relatively safe running it. Don't get me wrong, no one will ever seperate me from my smarty, by far one of the best things i have ever bought for my truck, it literally wakes em up.

But as far as paying the dealership for those two items, find someone that is willing to let you download their smarty to your truck and drive it a few miles to test... lol... and then unload it. The high idle will stay enabled from then on, as well as the 3 cyl cycle.

I edited this because I guess I was not very clear I believe the smarty will damage your trany but we can still give you the featuers you want with out hurting the trany. I have a smarty I should be visiting my parents in temple next weekend and could meet you some place to get you up and going with the high idle and three cyl cut out. . George

Where about? I've been wanting to try a Smarty out...

Maybe when it gets warm out we will have to pick a day and get all from nh to meet up somewhere. Let me know if anyone is interested.
