Hello,

I attached some pics of my Air Lift air springs that I installed some time ago. Are the upper steel plates suppose to be lined up? I had to adjust mine to make the spring straight. They seem to be working ok. Thought I'd see for sure. I hope so as the hardware looks pretty rusty to be making changes.

Thanks,

Earl

Yes, it looks like the set I had on my 3500 DRW. It's important to have the air bags setting straight between the axle and frame. Your installation looks correct.

I had a problem with the driver side air bag and I see your air bag is mounted in the same position. After thousands of miles carrying our heavy slide-in truck camper on rough highways, the base of the driver side air bag bent down causing the air bag to be out of alignment. The close proximity of the brake line doesn't allow moving the axle mounting bracket any further inboard to prevent bending the base. If you don't haul as heavy a load as I do, you may not have a similar problem.

Thanks for the info. The install manual was crappy and it looked like other guys lined their two upper plates together but I couldn't do that and keep the spring straight. So I wasn't sure if it was right or not. I run 55 lbs with 5th wheel with 4280 lbs on rear axle according to CAT scales.

I just installed my PacBrake airbags and wondering the same thing. Directions were a little basic imho. With aligning the bags I thought it was more important to make sure the bags were straight up and down when looking at them from the front to rear or vice versa.

I bolted my upper plates together as if they were attached as they were cut. I did not let my plates offset like yours. I am not sure which way is correct for the Pacbrake setup.
