Ok, I put new batteries in after the previous problems mentioned (Ref: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/truck-911/219618-batteries-generator-neither-both.html )
In short, I had a CarQuest battery crap out, and it showed as a "BAD" battery at thee parts store on their tester.
Just installed two new DieHard Platinums. Truck started extremely fast. Considering it is b9 degrees out and it has been sitting for a few days, I was real impressed by how fast it spun over. Like wow!
Let the truck run for a bout five minutes while I finished up some things, and took a look at the dash. The Volt meter was no longer reading, and the check guages light came on again.
Is my generator kicking out because it is dying? (Dead). Does it take a few minutes for the PCM or ECM to read and accept a bad signal from the Generator before it starts to set a code?
I have to see if I can figure out how to check the Generator output.
Any help would be appreciated. the parts guy said the old battery was internally shorted. I wonder if that cooked the generator.
Thanks guys.
