Sounds like a bad Pilot bearing. The very tip of the input shaft rides in a bearing in the crankshaft. If the bearing goes bad... . it keeps spinning the transmission regardless of the clutch.

while checking the hydralics, removed the slave cylinder and it damn near fell apart. shaft rusted to hell. didn't look or feel good. maybe that would help?

justin

p. s. easier than dropping the transmission

Seems like the slave cylinder gets kind of funny once you take it off and put it back on. Mine started clicking every time you push the pedal in and let it out after the clutch install. Had to pump it for 20 minutes to get it to work then had to do the 1st to reverse trick to back out the shop. After a little while it started working fine. Heard about the dealer selling a pre-bled replacement but haven't found one yet.
