ok heres the story friday moring my cousin where driving to a job site. on the way there my fuel pressure started droping. after a while it went to 0 well since i had to be there no questions i keep driving(i know very bad) anyways truck ran fine for a while w/ no pressure after a while though it started to miss. i figured the pump is starving. well i get where i needed to be and shut down. since we had some time i decided to play w/ it see if i could figure this out. well right off the lift pump wouldnt turn on(aeromotive a1000) played w/ the connections and it now works fine after that i turned the key and let it build pressure and started it. white smoke poors out it looked like a heavly fueled pull truck it was solid white smoke. truck idles rough now and pressure drops and sometimes the lp shuts off. i tow the truck home and start messing w/ it i pull the fuel filter and its clogged w/ thick black oily stuff(1000 miles on filter) so i have bad fuel drop tank sure enough there is stuff suspended in my fuel tank(looks like used motor oil) well i drained the fuel and put clean stuff in cleaned the system and put a new filter in. i also put A LOT of injector cleaner and some mmo to help clean it all up. i turn the lift pump on build pressure and it fires right up. let it idle and rev it a little all seems well. so i go for a test drive and it runs pretty good except up top at about 3k rpm it misses real bad but runs fine below that. i circle the block get everything up to temp and come home i just get in the yard and am idleing towards the back when the truck just dies. like someone turned off the key and it now wont restart. i have checked the fuel filter and its fine. pressure is fine and it cranks good and fast. i have not cracked the injector lines as of yet but it shouldnt be a problem like i said ran fine and just died. was even idleing smooth. anyways i need to know if my vp is dead. also the cel is on i just cant pull codes yet my buddy is coming w/ a code reader later today to see what the codes are. thanks in advanced for the help

also one thing i have noticed is my fuel tank is build A LOT of pressure really fast. 30 seconds of start and all of it idleing i can hear air hissing out of the fuel cap over the engine. if i take the cap off fast enough it will blow out of my hand. also there is white smoke coming out in a fairly constant stream

well i pulled codes and nothing showed it was a cheap reader and doesnt always get em. anyways some more news we cracked the injector lines and cranked it nothing no fuel at all. the lines will dribble fuel when the lift pump is on but thats it. as for the number 5 injector i dont think thats it yeah it didnt wanna go in the whole but it did hook up right and it ran. if i had an injector problem it would miss on only that cylinder since yeah it was being difficult. anyways if there if anyone near modesto ca w/ a good code reader and wants to help me out i would be much abliged.

you will need to take the Chevron/oil change/car wash over to Oakdale Rd and find Brandon---he has a scanner--he won't loan it out so don't ask, but if you want the truth your VP is toast--chris

hey chris do you have that monster vp on ive been reading about it. how do you like it? so you think its done then too?

I have the stage 3 on order since the 19th of April--but there's a hold up on production, because the builder isn't satisfied with it's performance over the stage 2--i. e. he believes it needs to be more, so I will wait until he feels he has got it---now with that being said I have a stage 2 sitting in my garage---plan is to dyno the HRVP and then swap in the stage 2 and dyno with it to see what the difference is---but I really would like to have my twins on, but I'm not sure that's going to happen, but we shall see----chris

well i would be looking at a stage one 1 dont need a 2 or 3 yet. what are they saying is the longevity of this pump. also is the drag comp or the juice w/ attitude still worth putting on this pump?
