Proud new owner!

Should the oil pressure gauge fluctuate with engine RMPs?

I'm a new owner of an '05 CTD and have heard that a new 4 or 5" exhaust with a new air filter system will really increase power and give me better milage. Is this true? or whats all the hype about? :

In most cases you will see some increase with a cold air intake and a good free flowing exhaust. You're most gain right now with no other mods will probably come from the intake.

your truck already has a 4" exhast. I have read that this is good up to ~500 HP.

Most air system gains come from cat/muffler removal/replacement.

If you want more turbo whistle the aFe stage 2 is the one IMO. But for a little bit take off the intake tube and look for the snap ring on the outer diameter inside the turbo intake and take out the snap ring and the silencer ring in there. Next take apart the expanded area of the intake tube and take out the air baffles. They just take up space any way right?

Have fun with the 05

Your performance and mileage gains will be minimal, the intake will help the most and amplify your turbo whine. They are both decent upgrades for future mods... . once you get started :-laf its hard to stop!

Hey Guys,

I just picked up my new '06 QC 4x4 SB on Tuesday. . I have been reading the forums here for the better part of a year and have seen conflicting information concerning the silencer ring and laminar flow device removal. . Some say Gains, some say losses, but most agree it increases the Turbo Whine. . Is this mod a warranty issue? Is complete intake system replacment such as the AFE a warranty issue? What is the story with inspections inthe state of Texas with a Cat-Delete pipe?
