I've got about a $1000 saved up and am wondering about the rasp. I bought my truck with 90k on it from a dealer. They used the truck to do dealer transports. They replaced the vp44 and lift pump at about 80k. Only thing i've done is install a pressure gauge which I keep a close eye on. I realize that I could replace the lift pump multiple times for the price of the rasp. Any thoughts on the pros or cons are appreciated.

I have it on my truck and love it!!!!

idle 12 psi WOT 14. 5-15 psi

it has been on my rig for almost a year now with no problems,

never have to worry about an electric pump any more

Is rasp worth the $$$?

Only you can answer that question. Not for me. I went with a pusher for about $100 and am still running my original LP. The leftover $900 went into other things. :D

RASP on sale at DTT

DTT has the RASP pumps on sale for $620. 00. Still not cheap, but not that much more than the FASS pumps.

For the cost of the RASP, I would *strongly* consider a cam swap with a mechanical LP.

The Lift pumps onthe 12V are stone-axe reliable.

You can get a Don M Helix cam for $800ish, and the LP and such for another $150 or so.

Oh, and you just happen to get a LOT better breathing as a result-- better spoolup, lower EGT, better MPG.

Given the cost of the RASP, the Don M cam looks like a steal.

Its worth the money only if you like peace of mind. I put one in 8000 miles ago and havent looked back and never had a problem with it. I think they are definatly worth it.
