Is the 6 speed available with a 4.10?

I am trying to find a new 2006 3500 dually 2 wd 6 speed with a 4. 10 rearend for maximum towing capability. The dealer is saying they aren't available. Is this correct??

i dont think youll need a 4. 10 gear with the 6spd. , its already very low, and i couldnt imagine it with the 4. 10 in the rear, you would probably be at like 2500rpm at 70mph!! the gears in the G56 are low enough for any kind of towing.

WDimig is right. unless you plan to do some real heavy towing, the 4. 10's are overkill. I had them in my 6 speed dually and never needed that much gear. Just used more fuel

The G56 with 3. 73s is equal to the older NV5600 and the 48RE with 4. 10s...

The dealer is correct. The ONLY gear ratio avl w/G56 is the 373, but this will net you the highest GCVW with the 3500. the auto has to have the 410s to get the max GCVW.

All three replies above are correct, but fail to state that the 4. 10's cannot be ordered with the G56.

My partner has an 06 SRW 3500 G56 3. 73:1, not sure of the difference between the DRW tire diameter and his, but his revs practically the same as my dually at 65 MPH.



Regardless, the G56 is an awesome transmission, very quite with no noticeable sound of gear lash.



Get the dually, G56, 3. 73's and you'll love it.

Thanks for the replies and info. That was what I was needing to know. I have a 97 5 spd and a 99 6 spd and the first gear ratios in these sure could be lower. And I find it odd that on the Dodge website for towing, it shows the 3500 six speed only listed with the 3. 73 which will tow 15,600# and the automatic is listed with 3. 73 and 4. 10. The auto 4. 10 will tow 15650# and the auto 3. 73 will tow 13650. Go figure!!

The only way to get 4. 10's behind the 6 speed is on a chassis cab. I tried to order my 06 with 4. 10s. The G56 is only available with the 3. 73's on the pickup like everyone has said. Now that I have it I am glad the 4. 10's weren't available because it would have been running way too high RPM on the freeway. The 3. 73 pulls heavy and makes a nice match for the G56.

I've heard that Dodge may choose to replace a defective warranty NV600 with a G56. If you had an NV5600 with 4. 10's and they replaced it with a G56, you would have one slow truck.

No, the OD in the G56 is lower... 3. 73s and the G56 is about equal to the 4. 10s and the NV5600...



And yes, WOT is only 96mph...comfortable cruising is about 50mph with 4. 10s and the NV5600.
