I bought a intake manifold from Hellmann and it doesn't have a hole for the intake temp sensor in the base plate.

Does the intake air temp sensor do anything more than trigger the grid heaters to cycle when it is cold? I'm not running the grid heaters, so if this is the sole reason for the sensor, then I won't even bother drilling and tapping a hole in the new manifold.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Hey... . you're in CA, wheres the EGR tapping!!! lol. . just kidding. .

would the IAT sensor fail cause a code to be set? guess he`ll find out. .

I was wondering if it would set a code. I'm also trying to get the fuel system together, so it might be a couple days until I find out. I have a Airdog 150 and a aftermarket tank I'm trying to install. You would think by now that I had learned to take one project at a time.

It will not set a code but it will cause the wait to start light to flash. It wouldn't be too hard to trick it and either take out the bulb, cut the wire, or put a resistor with the right resistance across the wires for the sensor.
