The tank on the power steering pump on my 05, 3500, 4X4, is lose and rattling and has a small leak, some where! Other than the leak, is this normal?
I would not expect this on a truck with only 64,000 miles on the clock! There are no mods on this truck, I have not had too do any major work other than the fan belt twice under warranty! Both belts did not come apart but showed more than normal wear, within a few months of each other. The last belt is still on the truck with very little wear showing. Thanks!

That tank should be fixed securely to the pump. It might be easier to remove the left front wheel, plastic wheel well liner and access the tank from the wheel well. I forgot how the old tank if fixed but the new ones have 4 machine screws holding the metal tank bracket to the pump and two long screws holding the tank to bracket.

Mine is loose also (2003). I noticed yesterday when flushing the fluid. It wiggles a little but doesn't rattle (that I've noticed). It seemed a little odd but I just shrugged and figured it must be normal. I guess I'll take another look.

I took a look at mine this morning. The tank on my 2003 is held on with two torx-head bolts. The bolts were tight but were not providing enough clamping force to keep the tank from wiggling. I tightened them down a little more.
