Cummins VT-50 Turbo

"THUMP, THUMP, THUMP" problem

I would definetaly have to say that turbos do not scare deers away as I have been driving other vehicle (gassers) for 7 years and have never hit a deer, but with m,y diesel I hit my first deer driving late at night and hit him at 55-60 MPH after only 10-1/2 months of owning the truck.

Alan,

Bite your tongue sir. I hit a deer (or it really hit me) on the way home from the drag night we had on the 6th. Yes, a convoy of Cummins heading towards my house with me in the lead. Dented the drivers door.

DavidTD, Hey Buddy. Sorry I missed the drags. On active duty with the Coast Guard. Sounds like the deer hit you. I know what the problem is with you guys... . All that air you were pulling probably sucked that curious deer off the side of the road into the side of your truck. Hope all is OK.

I hit deer sometimes on a nightly basis while at work (I am a Locomotive engineer). I once hit 7 at one place. They seem to love Diesel locomotives.

EMDDiesel, 7 at once. Those locomotives run the big Detroits don't they? You can hear those turbos sitting at the crossing. Are those turbos or superchargers. I was on a tug yesterday with twin Detroits and they were supercharged rather than turbocharged.
