Yes I have - it's a FreeBSD box btw. The problem comes up with the time based features of the software. If the clock is changed at a strange time events can be missed which causes problems. Also, what has happened in the past is that the server it was syncing to moved the time backwards from the server and locked everyone out from posting and searching for a while. There are timers on some of the functions to stop the server from being slammed. If someone is on the site and the clock is moved back they can't do anything until the clock moves back past the original time again. I had it set up that way in the past and had both problems come up. So for now I'll just adjust the clock every couple months at a time when there aren't many users on.
I noticed, even after verifying i have the correct time zone chosen in my profile, that when I post, it will say the time on the site is about 5 hrs off (site says I posted at 4 am, and it is 11 pm here).
TRCM - you don't have your time zone set correctly. Your time zone is set to GMT +1 or what the time would be in Paris, France. Being in Virginia you should have it set to GMT -5 for eastern time.
Nate - you have to set the time zone for where you are. The servers clock is set to GMT (or universal time) and then each user has to set their time zone for where they are because we have users worldwide. Pull down the discussion forum menu to user control panel and then click on edit options on the left. In the 2nd to last box you'll see "Date & Time Options" - there you can set what time zone you are in and whether you use daylight savings time there or not.
Did you hit "Save Changes" at the bottom of the screen after selecting it? I see that you now have eastern time zone selected - is it working properly for you now?
