The supposed benefit of manufactures going to larger tires (17 vs 16) is that this allows for a larger brakes system. The rotors are larger etc... If you go to 19. 5 does anybody make a brake setup that would be larger and therefore significantly increase our braking?????

The thing that you have to take into consideration with bigger brakes is the actual rotating mass of the new tire/wheel combo. One needs to upgrade brakes when installing a larger whell and heavier tire to keep braking performance up to par. Installing a 19. 5 with a much heavier tire will kill stock brakes fairly quickly- The benefit of being able to put bigger brakes on the car when you have a corvette with a 20' wheel as opposed to an 18 is that you can improve braking because you sre not making that drastic of a change in rotating mass. Putting 19. 5's on a truck with a breaking system meant for 16's is a recipe for disaster- You would need to go with bigger brakes to offset the rotating mass- If you plan to tow, it is a must. I believe that brembo and baer make the kits for upgrades. you can check the websites for applications
