The thing that you have to take into consideration with bigger brakes is the actual rotating mass of the new tire/wheel combo. One needs to upgrade brakes when installing a larger whell and heavier tire to keep braking performance up to par. Installing a 19. 5 with a much heavier tire will kill stock brakes fairly quickly- The benefit of being able to put bigger brakes on the car when you have a corvette with a 20' wheel as opposed to an 18 is that you can improve braking because you sre not making that drastic of a change in rotating mass. Putting 19. 5's on a truck with a breaking system meant for 16's is a recipe for disaster- You would need to go with bigger brakes to offset the rotating mass- If you plan to tow, it is a must.
