Is there any reason for me to use a boost fooler?

Hello all,

Is there any reason for me to use a boost fooler on my 2005 Ram? I only have the smarty on and have no problems making boost.

The SO-6 Smarty loaded with original programming didn't do boost fooling. Boost would go to 32, drop back to about 29 or so and stay there. Adding the quad boost fooler let boost go to roughly 40 psi on #5 at 4200' elevation, dropping EGT's substantially. Be careful on the 05 though, as it has a plastic air to air and they're not supposed to like the higher boost pressures very much.

Plastic intercooler was limited to the first half of the year. Check build dates.



The boost fooler works great even on a stock truck as it will keep the EGT's down and provide much better air in the mid-range.

tabbott, what do you mean when you talk about the plastic air to air not liking the high boost. i have an 05 and use the edge ez which i think fools the boost also .

He means the plastic intercooler tanks which can burst at seams. Dont bother checking the build date just look at intercooler, its either plastic or metal. Pretty simple to tell the diff.



The quad boost fooler works well it tells the truck you only have 24Lbs of boost. It's plugged in line with the MAP sensor. You can even fool your modules thats plugged in after the fooler to think its only making 24 PSI.
