I have had a power issue, https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=173762

posted here.

I drove the truck today in a very hilly area. with the smarty on 9 or 8 I had no throttle under load, with my foot to the floor I couldent build speed, if I let up the truck takes off. if you get in the throttle a little and hold it it takes about 2 seconds then starts to pull if you floor it theres no power, let up and its back.

on the way home I set it on 3. no problems. the more you got on it the faster you went. let off and you slow down.

There are no codes. I thought vp problem, but the truck does not derate, just no power. I have 15 psi of inlet pressure at the vp at WOT

Just a couple ideas

1-aftercooler boot leaking you can loose some boost pressure there

2- in your prevoius thread you had a lot of transmission codes. It sounds like a dying lockup clutch or od clutch

Im pretty sure the trans codes are from the lock up switch, the trans is a brand new mopar reman and new convertor. the egt's arent high enough to have a boost leak, and in lower gears it holds 25-30 psi.

Take your rig and smarty to the ct coffee night and let some else try your smarty?

A vp issue that has not yet registered?

Im thinking maybe a vp problem but no codes. it does run fine without the smarty, on not on catcher settings. wasnt there an update for no midrange throttle with the smarty?

Dan the pedal travel is cut in half with the higher Smarty levels, my Catcher reflashed with #9 is the same way, you gotta find the sweet spot, usually half throttle, and you must roll into it not floor it, did you due the updates? if not they help a lil bit and make the truck easier and nicer to drive with less smoke.

oh, and there is no real sweet spot. if you start to get in it you have to wait a second then it starts to pull then you can get in to it gradually, its reallly hard to hold or build speed on the highway.

Mine done this I took out the smarty and it ran better but after a week or so it started doing it again and the VP died no codes and 20 psi pressure
