2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Is this a good deal?

A buddy of mine has found a 1998 2500 auto 2wheel drive slt excellant condition with 36000 highway miles. What is this truck worth? KBB says $15000. Was used for travel trailer only. Any input would be appreciated?

Market value - What other trucks like his are going for locally



Motivated buyer - How bad the person want's the truck



The whole thing depends on getting the word out that it's for sale. That can be as simple as posting a for sale sign in the window and waiting till the right person sees the sign -OR- placing adds in the local publications in as many places as possible. Adds cost money and can quickly become a good chunk of change.



The other big variable is dealing with the folks who look at the truck. Many are going to offer much less than he'a asking, and maybe he'll get one who understands value and just buys it for a little less than he's asking.

Is it 24 or 12 valve. Check for options and maintanence. With 36,000 miles and everything else is good. It would seem a good deal.

if it is a 98, not a 98. 5 it will still be a 12 valve, although they dont make quite as much power, they are still good trucks, and id say 13k would be more than fair to offer him... miles are low, but it is 6 years old... .

It is a 24 valve engine. Are there any things that he should be aware of in the 98. 5 trucks?
