Well it is summer here in Missouri, and we have high humidity and temps. I buy my fuel at a truck stop that sells a lot of diesel. But I was just wondering if I should add a bottle of biocide to be on the safe side? I never let my tank get below 1/2 full and run through around 20 gallons a week. Do I really need to add this stuff or just keep using my regular fuel additive to keep the injectors clean?

It takes water to grow algae

At 20 ga/week you're cycling your fuel enough that you shouldn't worry. The biggest problem comes from partially filled tanks, the less the worst, that are exposed to large daily temperature swings that cause condensation. Worst case would be if you parked all day on a concrete parking lot where the sun reflected up at your tank and the fuel got hot as Hades, then you drive home to a much cooler spot. With heavy equipment we were always taught to fill up at the end of the day to prevent condensation. Open your filter water drain occasionally and try to catch what comes out. If you get water on a regular basis you may want to add biocide, keep your tank full or change stations.
