Just wondering, doesn't look like the HY35 off an '02 that I have... I am trying to source a HY35 for another friend with a 4BT. Thanks...

It should indeed be the HY35. All 3rd GENs have the HY35 OEM. I'm guessing it's from a 305/555 engine as it has the mechanical wastegate (the 325/600's have an electronically controlled wastegate). I think there may be some slight differences between a 2nd GEN housing due to the fact that the 2nd GENs sit a little higher up than the 3rd GENs do.

Thanks dieselcruiserhead I should have come here with the question first, I know you are busy setting up 4btswaps.com and with your own projects.

gsbrockman, I am looking for an hy35 as an upgrade for my 4bta's HC1 and I didn't reconize this turbo.

Thanks for the info.

Thats not an HY35 in that auction. The turbo listed an HE341W.

The HY35 and HE have totally different exhaust and compressor outlets.

Thats good to know.

Will a Hy35 be a bolt in replacement for my H1C? What about an HX35?

Which turbo would be better for my little 4BTA? I realise that the HY35 has a smaller housing alowing it to spool up faster, but later on I would like to get serious about building up power. I plan on a port and pollish, turned up fuel pump, bigger injectors, a 3200rpm gov. spring and stiffer valve springs. My goal is about 200hp from this little beast, which would bring it close to what 6cyl cummins is at 300hp
