I now have 15K on my truck and it runs just fine and I have not noticed any change in fuel economy.

However, I do notice a mild amount of black smoke at start up and idle after it has sat overnight. There is always a little soot on the rear quarter and bumper next to the tailpipe. It also seems to smoke more on accleration than when I bought it... . not that I mind that so much, but those little street tuner guys might. . :-laf

Truck is going for service Monday anyway, I don't mind the smoke but just want to be sure it is not signaling a potentially bigger problem since it has increased since I bought it.

Again, the truck seems to otherwise run fine. All regular maintenance has been performed and the truck/engine are bone stock.

Thank you,

Ben

my 05 smoked sooo much stock that i could drive it like a grandpa for a few days, then LAY into it and it would smoke like crazy larry for about 2 seconds then it would clear. It will puff a small amount anytime i punch it... . when it was bone-stock anyway. Its a cloud anytime i punch it now :D

I don't get ANY smoke on my 06, not that it is abnormal for you to get any. . I change my fuel filter every 5,000 . . Has it been a while since you changed the filter? Are you running any fuel additives?

No fuel additives. Fuel filter changed at 10K. . using the 7 micron Fleetguard.

Truck is going in for HVAC service because the fan is messed up and the recirc door is busted.
