I'm assuming this is EGT1 on my CTS2?

Sure acts like the post-turbo pyro I had in my 05.

EGT1 - DOC inlet
EGT2 - DOC outlet
EGT3 - DPF outlet
EGT4 - SCR midbed
EGT5 SCR outlet

Right, but where is it actually located on the truck?

That photo is a sensor, just seeing if it’s EGT1 or something else. Not sure what else it would be thou.

I assumed it was since there isn't physically one at the DOC inlet and that elbow is right before it. But I have not seen any literature that says it is.

Yeah that's my assumption as well.

I did find an older diagram on here that shows one at the DOC inlet a few feet from the turbo, but I've also seen this referenced as it... just trying to be sure.

The way it reads and acts it seems like it is EGT 1.

Is this on the 13+ trucks?

I don't remember ever seeing anything on my DOC.

Yes, it's from an article in TDR Issue 91 that Joe Donnelly did.

I need to look at mine when I get home. I found that one on the exhaust elbow last night and was pleased, but then I was doing some reading and got conflicting answers.

So I just went and snuck a peek at a '17 in the parking lot.

There is most certainly a pyro probe where T1 is on that diagram.

So, that begs the question... Which is EGT 1, and if the sensor in the elbow isn't a pyro... what is it?

I am guessing the probe in the elbow is a pressure sensor. EGT1 probe should be about a foot downstream, just before the first smog trap, if it is like my 2013. See if there is a pressure sensor in the exhaust manifold, like my '13. This might be a new style, putting it in the elbow instead of the manifold.

There is still a pressure sensor in the manifold, and this doesn't look like a pressure sensor.

I tried to find it in quickserve but cannot locate it, just the elbow with a hole.

Does your '13 have the elbow mounted sensor?

Alright.. after a little more digging I found it.

It's the NOx sensor.

So EGT 1 is about 3-4' from the turbo at the DOC inlet.... bummer, but again it's really not needed just nice to see for those of us who are used to a little data.

Are you positive?
I thought the upstream NOX sensor was at the dpf inlet.

The exhaust pressure sensor is located top side toward the back of the engine bay, near the EGR cooler. If it is like the 07.5-12 it should have tubing running to it.

That’s a sensor, not a injector. DEF injects much further back.

Cummins calls it a NOx Sensor.

Ha ha, yeah I had started to reply "definitely" but got busy. Didn't know I hit reply.

Anyhow, I just got home to my truck and took a look as I was fairly confident the upstream NOX sensor was further downstream, but mine is exactly like what's posted above from Quickserve.
Anyone know if the T05 recall changed the location of the upstream sensor? I found this, he's usually pretty accurate.

Wow. Phones goin nuts. Above picture is upstream NOX module, looking through pass side wheel well you can see the orange grommet its mounted to.

And down stream NOX and module, and EGT 5. I had somewhat familiarized myself with these sensors when I first got my truck and haven't looked at any of it in some time, so my memory is fuzzy. But I swore the upstream sensor was just ahead of dpf.
