Just finished installing the gauges. Isspro EV pyro and boost. I am stock for now with just a K&N in the stock air box.

The question is on the probe. How far in should it be or does it matter. I would guess the probe is in about 1 to 1 1/2 inches. Right now at start up I get just under 300 degrees. On a hard acceleration I can get to 1000. On cool down it will hardly get below 300. I read that you should let it cool to 250 to 300 yet there is no way mine will get down to 250. My #11 plate should be in this week so I want to be sure things are working good before I install it.

The boost looks good peaks out at 24.

Thanks DAZ

Read the paperwork carefully that came with the pyro. It doesn't measure exactly the true temp, instead it reads the difference between the hot end & the cold end (I think the end of the lead)or something like that, I understood it once, but forgot most of it,

Sounds about right. The only time mine sees less than 300 degrees after driving, is while decellerating with a heavy load on a long hill with my exhaust brake turned off. Every time I come home, I idle down my driveway ( 1200' long) to let the turbo cool before shut down. It always levels off at 300 degrees.

With a stock truck you should see 1000-1150 degrees pre turbo on full acceleration at max rpms (uphill). Your figires sound normal.

Garry.

Daz, your numbers sound right in there. Remember that pyros, and most all gauges, are only accurate in the middle of their scale. My truck can idle all day and not drop below 300. I shut down at 350.
