I've got my SPA gages ready to go in. I want to install PDR CAM, DD111's and a comp box. I am not ready to upgrade the turbo yet because I am still undecided. If I leave the pump wire untapped will this be ok EGT wise with the stock turbo? Leave the box off for now? How will smoke be with the injectors and stock turbo? Still have stock clutch too but not planning on hot rodding it alot right now

Let me hear you guys, need your input. Thanks alot

I would say with the larger injectors you will want to run the box, just so you don't over boost and throw codes. Of course in order to over boost you will have to install a boost elbow or something else to keep it from bleeding off at 20 psi. Besides with the larger injectors it will be easier to increase EGT's if you don't give the engine more air(boost)

What I've heard.......

That cam will save you. Everyone say's it drops EGT's greatly. Without the pump wire hooked up I dont see a problem even with the DD3's. Worst case scenario EGT's can be controlled via the right foot...

Garrett

with DD3's and a loose wire COMP and a stock turbo, EGT will peak at close to 1350, but it is manageable, and you can tow with it.

If you added a PDR40, you will not have any EGT problems with DD3's and a loose wire COMP.

Once you hook up the pump wire... ... she will be running a little hot.

Don't tow above level 2... there is no need to anyway.

You can tow very well with DD3's!

Do you or someone you know have a settup like this? If I keep box off, will I be safe pulling 12k? If I go with the Piers HX40 later what will egt's be? Better to drop down to DD2's?

If Diesel Freak says it you can believe it :D

The man knows his stuff, I know a few people who run a similar setup and tow ok just use discretion on your right foot

Don't forget he's installing a camshaft as well, that should lower his temps some has well. Injectors only COMP off or on Level I he will be well under 1300°

You will not get any smoke, with DDIII's only and a camshaft. If you hook up the COMP and add in the "timing" function then you will be able to create some smoke.

Since you through the camshaft in the picture I am going to say yes. I am not aware of anyone with a cam and injectors only (to ask).
