Any Dodge part #'s available?

Has anyone converted a nv241 to a nv241hd?

Useful/helpful?

I see 86 have read the post.

Has anyone looked at the charts?

Are they of any help?

When I saw the torque numbers for the ISC it made me start to wonder, yeah... ... ... ... ... ..... i can make one fit, sure I can.

Stay away from the ISC. You are better off with the C8. 3l Cummins. The fuel system on the ISC is just not up to par, and a 8. 3l with a p7100 is about as close to rugged and reliable as you will ever get. I have seen too many locked up rotors in the CAPS pump to ever want one propelling me down the road. . 02$ :)

your missing the 300hp ISB that is for emergency vehicles only. Great chart though. Makes me wonder what all there is left out on our engines.

There are more differences then most people know of in the higher output engines, and I am trying to get to the bottom of it in my spare time. The main bearing and block structure are the same, but pistons, rings, and heads are what I wonder about  I'll post what I can learn :)

Our 2000 KME Excel custom built fire engine has the ISC 330. It moves the 44,000 lb rig with ease coupled with an Allison 3060MD trans. Hills pose no problem. Its been a great engine. I almost speced a Detroit Series 40 but I rode in an almost identical fire truck with one and it didn't have enough power to get out of its own way.

Very interesting

I wonder if our ISB's have single or dual Ni pistons? My manual seems to indicate we have valve seat inserts which is nice. Which turbo's are represented, guessing HY and HX35 or does Cummins use the HX40 on >230hp? Also I like the switch to 2-piece exhaust manifold at >230hp, obviously our manifold cracking problem is well-known.

I can tell you with good confidence that the ISB will not be found with a hx-40 from the factory, and all isc's have them. Why they do not use the three piece manifolds on the smaller engines must be a money issue, because it sure makes sence in all other aspects. :)

P. S. I got to see and hear the ISBe four banger at work yesterday, a lot quieter, interesting to work on, more studying :(
