Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Isolator fix?

Fuel Preassure isolator, the part that sitts inside the engine bay. .



I noticed it leaking the antifreeze like fluid and my preasure gauge is not moving at all. Any way to re-fill the isolator with fluid? i am thinking that it leaked out all of the fluid and it doesn't have enough in there to move the gauge at all.



i have the Iss pro or whatever its called. .

Use a syringe and put fluid in through the line that attaches to the back of the gauge.



Make sure the isolator screws are tight that holds the unit together.

Yup the screws were tight. what happend is where the plastic line atached to the back of the isolator on the "quick connect" it was leaking between the line and the quick connect ... even now after i refilled it if i touch it at all it will leak a bit but if i leave it alone and don't touch it seams to be holding. . kinda seams flaky to me...



To fix it i

1. removed the gauge



2. disconnected the isolator from the fuel line



3. unscrewed the screw that connects the fuel gauge to the isolator by spinning the isolator and thus disconnecting the two



4. fill up the isolator with liquid



5. fill up the plastic hose from the back by forcing the liquid thru towards the gauge (hence why i removed the gauge as well)



6. hold the isolator and both ends of the plastic hose in the same level while someone puts a finger over the end of the hose on the fuel gauge side. creates block/vacum so liquid doesn't leak out.



7. connect the two securely and put the gauge on, there should be 0% air in the system then.



8. reconnect the isolator to the fuel side bump the starter once/twice to get the fuel going towards the isolator and blead out any air.



9. go look at the gauge and curse at the lift pump for only having 8 psi at idle. .



10. go inside the house, take out the already worn from abuse credit card and make another order. .
