After installing my ISSPRO EV EGT gauge this weekend I noticed it does not drop below 300 even after the truck has been sitting overnight. Once I start the truck it moves as expected but for some reason the gauge does not return to 0 when the truck cools completely. I also noticed that the very first time I started the truck after installing the gauge it sprung up to 300 and remained there until drove off. Has anyone else experienced that?

Just installed mine a few weeks ago and it always goes to zero (like it should) when the power is off. Maybe a bad ground, gauge or amplifier box? TDR member Pliska is listed as a supporting vendor, Isspro Engineering Manager. If the shop you bought it from can't help then maybe a PM to him may help. I'd check the ground first... it's "low hanging fruit. "

I think the above link will connect you with his profile. Good luck, I love looking at my gauges and watching my boost climb when I fly up the hills here in WA.

The issue I am having does not appear to be caused by improper grounding. The gauge works great above 300 but it just does not go back to 0 or read anything below 300.

Here is the grounding location I used.

I am also wondering if it is possible to overtighten the two mounting screws so much that they distort shape of the gauge and prevent the gauge indicator from moving smoothly? I know it sounds far fetched and I only hand tightened them but maybe I went a little too far?

I am now convinced this is something caused by the mounting method I am using; gaugeworks triple overhead pod. I just performed a test with the gauge pod detached from the windshield / headliner and the EGT gauge worked without issue. Once I repositioned the pod, same issue returned. As far as I can see it appears that the rearview mirror wire harness is pressing against one of the terminals. I was not able to work at it for long as it got dark. I'll get back at it tomorrow.

To be continued... .

my egt gauge stays where it last registered until I re-start the truck. Thats just they way they work.

DGlidewell, from your signature I noticed that you have Dipricol gauges. Coincidentally what you described it what I am experiencing but others who have ISSPRO gauges similar to mine have said it should return to 0. I will call ISSPRO to confirm if this behavior is what I should expect.

I was able to work at this issue last night and I discovered I have a faulty gauge. The gauge indicator is touching the gauge's glass face when it is at 400 and below. Which prevents it from making a full sweep back to 0.

Just my luck I guess.

Thanks for all the input on this one.

Talk to Curt at Isspro. . They will take care of you. .

I spoke to an ISSPRO tech today and he said this particular gauge should return to 0 once the ignition is switched off. This proved my observation that something is obstructing the gauge indicator.

I called the company I purchased it from and they are going to send me a warranty replacement.

glad your situation is being addressed. I prefer the way my gauge works. :-laf

It tattles on me if it did not cool-down below 400.

Yes my issue is sorted. Thanks to the good people at Geno's! Great vendor! I received my new gauge yesterday and installed it. It now returns to 0 when the key is switched off and does not jump around at lower temperatures.
